Experience:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Some supervisory or leadership experience preferred.
Must complete pre-employment testing.
Essential Functions:
Provides superior customer service when assisting patrons of all ages Assists patrons with basic information questions in person, over the phone, and electronically Oversees the department in absence of the supervisor, handling staff and patron inquiries Works with a variety of software and library automation programs Responsible for special department projects as assigned Responsible for opening and closing procedures including cash register and deposit tasks Assists with all circulation duties, including but not limited to library card registration, patron account services, collection maintenance, and Interlibrary Loan Keeps current with library events, SCPL Intranet, calendar, and meeting room reservations Assists with training new employees Assists with additional branch and department coverage as needed Remains aware of security and safety concerns taking appropriate action as needed KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience and some supervisory or leadership experience General knowledge of public library procedures, practices, and equipment Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills that display a positive attitude, cultural sensitivity, a sense of humor, with the ability to interface with people from all backgrounds and age groups Strong technology skills and ability to work with a variety of devices, software, and audio-visual equipment Creative, flexible, and organized with good time management skills and attention to detail Ability to take direction and work independently or in a team environment Strong work ethic with a willingness to take initiative and ability to direct the tasks of coworkers Observant and security minded Ability to lift boxes weighing up to 50 pounds & ability to push heavy carts The Library accepts applications with cover letter and resume when a job position is available.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
