Physician - General Surgeon
POSITION:
General Surgeon JOB DUTIES:
Evaluate, diagnose, consult, and provide pre- and post- operative care to patients to correct or treat various conditions, diseases, disorders and injuries of the alimentary tract, abdomen, and its contents, extremities, breast, skin, and soft tissue, head and neck, congenital disorders, oncologic disorders, vascular disorders excluding intracranial and cardiac vessels, and endocrine systems.
Monitor patients conditions and progress to reevaluate treatment as required.
Oversee the operating room, supervising, and coordinating activities of nurses, assistants, specialists, and other medical staff.
Conduct research to develop and test medications.
Provide treatment to prevent or control disease.
This position requires 15% domestic travel.
HOURS:
40 hours per week, Monday through FridayLOCATION:

Experience:
Medical Doctorate degree (or foreign equivalent degree) and Board Certification in Surgery.
Must have an active South Carolina medical license.
Special Skills:
Also requires experience in the following:
Bowel procedures including biopsy; enterolysis; small bowel, colon and rectum resections; Anastomosis and stomas; diverticulectomy; appendectomy; correction of intestinal obstruction; Intraoperative endoscopy; Enteric fistula management; Enterostomy (feeding and decompression); Laparoscopic small and large bowel procedures; Procedures on the anus and rectum including hemorrhoidectomy; rectal prolapse procedures; Anoplasty, anal fissures, fistula, abscess incision/drainage and resection/restoration; anoscopy; Excision of pilonidal cyst/marsupialization; Abdomino-perineal resection; Ileo anal pull through procedure; Pre-Op Antibiotics; DVT Prophylasis; and Chart Completion.
