Under the general direction of the VP of Strategy and Development the Patient Transportation Specialist (PTS) driver accurately and efficiently transport patients.
Ensuring patients of ReGenesis Health Care are provided with reliable and courteous transportation with safety as a top priority and to maintain vehicle records.
This position drives health centers vehicles, interacts with patients, staff, and public in a calm, courteous, and confident manner and makes decisions as the situation demands.
Maintains pleasant, friendly, professional demeanor with patients and staff always.
All employees of ReGenesis Healthcare are required to follow all organization policy and procedures.
Duties &
Responsibilities:
Operate assigned vehicle in a safe and courteous manner.
Maintain defensive driving training.
Provide a communication link between customers and staff Maintain accurate, up-to-date records on trip sheets, patient transportation forms, vehicle maintenance, fuel purchases, incident reports, accident reports, and other records that are requested from leadership.
Provide continuous communication between patient and the health center staff.
Report any change in schedule including any patient cancellations.
Read and interpret maps and driving directions to plan the most efficient route service for patients, Ensure patient is properly identified before transporting.
Assist passengers, including handicapped, in and out of the vehicle; operates ramp and lift, escort to health center lobby, and open doors for them as needed Performs daily vehicle checks and maintains van ensuring that it is mechanically safe.
Fuel the assigned vehicle adequately.
Works flexible shifts as work dictates.
Performs other duties as assigned.
