Role Summary Responsible for developing, implementing, and sustaining performance improvements in injection molding operations. Assists in the development of new products, process characterization, project management, training, and documentation. Provides technical support of all production and tooling activities in relation to injection molding. Provides molding feasibility reviews. Performs troubleshooting. Supports daily production and launch activities. Supervises staff. Performs other duties as needed. Key Responsibilities Provides process troubleshooting, data collection and data analysis. Supports daily production and Molding Department goals. Works on C.I.T. activities and sets up production activities. Contributes to the solving of production and customer problems. This may include the definition, conduction, and evaluation of engineering tests. Requires technical interfacing with resources internal and external to the company to support problem solutions. Key team member to obtain desired manufacturing efficiencies (uptime, throughput, and yield) of new products. Ensure that new processes are in control and manufacturing flow is efficient. Works independently with periodic technical and program reviews with the Molding Business Unit Manager. Provides molding feasibility reviews. Reviews new or modified production designs prior to completion. Ensures product designs are produced easily and efficiently. Provides direction on technical details related to tool development. Develops or oversees the development of molding machine processes required to produce new or improved products. Assists R&D with new molding processes. Performs initial molding process setups. Key Qualifications/Requirements Bachelor's degree in engineering with a minimum of five (5) years in high volume manufacturing of injection molded product experience; or equivalent experience. Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, and direct technical work for new or improved products in relations to plastic injection molding. Demonstrated strong written and verbal skills to communicate effectively with internal and external contacts. Demonstrated Knowledge of manufacturing processes, data analysis, problem solving and experimental methodology desired. Additional Information
Salary Range:
$80K -- $100K
Minimum Qualification
Mechanical Engineering, Electrical EngineeringEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
