Job Responsibilities
With our Agency's mission to support the recovery of people with mental illnesses, we provide a complete array of medical and support services for children, adults, and families throughout South Carolina.
This position is located at the Department of Mental Health, Spartanburg Office, 250 Dewey Avenue, Spartanburg, SC 29303
Under limited supervision of School Mental Health Coordinator, employee will perform direct School Mental Health services in designated Spartanburg County Schools in District 2. Therapist will provide a therapeutic program for children and adolescents (and their families), and/or adults at risk for social, emotional, behavioral and/or academic challenges and with significant mental health issues. Plan and provide advanced individual, family, and group psychotherapy of a complex nature. Increase collaborative efforts between SAMHC, the school district, and community partners, involving all in the implementation process. Assist direct supervisor with the task of increasing public awareness and appropriate utilization of school mental health services.
Provide Assessment, Individual, Group and Family Therapy services, as well as intake assessments to child, adolescent and adult SAMHC patients.
Maintain documentation of clinical services in accordance with State and Center Quality Assurance standards and adheres to all Corporate Compliance, Outcomes, Evaluations, research and Continuity of Care policies and procedures.
Develop a school-based mental health program in a school by collaborating with administrators, teachers, and study support staff.
Regularly attending staffing's, trainings, and meetings including supervisory sessions, treatments team, CAF meetings, district meetings, and district team meetings.
Minimum and Additional Requirements
State Requirements: A master's degree in guidance, counseling, the social sciences, or a related field.
Agency Requirements: A master's degree in guidance, counseling, the social sciences, or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications
Bilingual abilities in English and Spanish (or another language) are a plus.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
