Job Summary
The Patient Access Representative is responsible for greeting all patients, collecting and documenting correct demographic and billing information, an accurate cash drawer, issuing receipts, daily deposits, assist patients with scheduling/rescheduling/confirming of all appointments, and maintaining an orderly flow of patients through the reception and lobby area. Representative will be required to perform patient access activities in support of all physician practices, and multiple outpatient ancillary departments and inpatient units. Duties also include pre-certification of admissions, and special procedures with insurance companies, including eligibility. Must understand process flows and software technology required to support physician office environments, hospital inpatient and outpatient services, as appropriate. Must perform compliant order verification for all inpatient and outpatient orders through actual orders or order software.
Job Requirements
High school diploma or GED equivalent. Three years of Medical Office or hospital registration experience, Typing 50 words per minute minimum, ICD9 and/or CPT coding, knowledge of insurance, financial experience, balancing and handling large sums of money.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
